We at HOP Solutions are on a quest to provide height adjustable desking to the home working community in the UK. So what better place to start than looking at Home work community groups on Facebook?
Not as a hard sell (that’s not what we do) but mainly to meet other like-minded home based workers and share ideas and get into the online community . After all home working can be a pretty lonely existence. Put it this way: I keep the staff at my local supermarket in employment because I bypass the automated checkout some days just so I can have interaction with a real person. But I digress.
So we joined a few and checked out their posts. There were the odd posts asking about office equipment and a few community related posts. But at least 98% of the posts were all “work from home opportunities”
Yeh. That’s great. But I already run 2 businesses from home. 🤔
Not only that. I had a constant post form a couple of fellow community members, suddenly checking in with “how I was”? Now and then they still come up with a post. So far I have ignored them. One day in the not too distant future, I will take a day off soon and play the game, aka going through their conversation pitch.
So now I have created a Facebook Group bringing together Home Workers in the UK as a community.
Don’t get me wrong, our members (and me!) do post to promote our companies, but it is restricted to one day.
We also have a regular check in. Just to see how you are doing, what you are doing and what you are grateful for today.
I ask questions now and then. mainly to get to know about you more, but mainly because I am a bit nosey. 🥸
